Hey there! I’m Melanie, a freelance writer and lover of all things creative. I’m also the Founder and Editor of Whim Online Magazine, having begun this little space of the web in late February of 2013. Literally created ‘on a whim’, I started the site as a platform to write about the topics I’m most passionate about – whimsical and dreamy photography, art, fashion, and craft content.
Since beginning Whim, I have also become an established Freelance Writer for multiple other platforms including Cool Crafts, BeFunky, Photo Contest Insider, Wink Book Reviews, ROCCAPINA, and Arts Melange (just to name a few!).
Writing has been my passion since I was a little girl and I could often be found creating ‘books’ filled with scribbled (and quite unreadable!) stories before I had even started school. This passion led me to study writing at Uni, obtaining a Bachelor of Creative Writing in late 2011 and a Diploma of Journalism in mid-2014.
Some years ago, I also made the conscious decision to inject my daily life with as much creativity as possible, just as I had once done as a child. To be honest, if I’m not crafting, taking photos, writing, arranging spaces, reading, or brainstorming dreamy ideas, then I feel a little empty!
Whim not only allows me to embrace my love of writing and creativity, but it now also allows me to inspire and motivate others to live the creative and beautiful life of their dreams.
